How do Hosted Desktops work?
A hosted desktop is a Windows desktop containing your applications which can be used to access your files and data and stored on a hosted file/database server. There is no restriction on when the hosted desktops can be accessed, unless specified within the individual security policy set by you. This means that your business and clients have the freedom to work from anywhere, at any time.
Is anti-virus protection included?
Bitdefender Endpoint Protection comes as standard with all hosted desktop solutions which detects and removes threats accurately. Bitdefender’s layered next-generation endpoint protection platform (NG EPP) protects against the full spectrum of sophisticated cyber threats with speed, accuracy, low administrative overhead and minimal system impact.
Do I need to buy any special equipment?
Customers can use any PC, Mac or Linux machine to connect to their hosted desktop. One of the initial cost-savings is the ability to continue to use existing PCs. As the processing power, memory and storage are provided by GoCloud servers, customers are even able to use older PCs that would usually be unable to run a new Operating System themselves, thereby extending their working lives and ROI. Hosted desktops will also work on laptops, tablet devices and smartphones.
