Under new Ofcom rules, as of 1st July 2019, mobile phone customers can leave their network by simply sending a free text message to their existing provider.
A recent Ofcom survey revealed that 31% of mobile switchers found it difficult to cancel their previous service. Also, 45% of people decide against switching, because they think the process will be too time-consuming
Ofcom has decided to simplify the way customers and business can change mobile providers. They believe the new switching process will provide a greater choice and flexibility to find the best deal.
The new text-to-switch process
Text 'PAC' to 65075 – To switch and keep your mobile number
Text ‘STAC’ to 75075 – To switch and get a new mobile number
